Genetic Map of Mormons

There’s an other interesting Mormon-centric post by Razbin up. It’s on the genetic map of Mormons. Aka if Mormons were a country. Pub Med has the full article online that Razib is quoting from. The original graph in the paper is comparing us with the Amish and Hutterites. Here’s that graph.

The conclusion is that Mormon allele frequencies were generic northern European.

In grad school I had a genetics class where the invited lecturer made the point that although a lot of people think Mormons are inbred, they actually are not.

This elicited some chuckles from my classmates and I simply raised my fist in a sign of vindication.
