On Kant, Heidegger, and OOP. Some great discussion in the comments – too bad I missed the discussion while being so busy with work. I tend to agree with Gary Williams which worries me a bit since he appears heavily influenced by the pragmatists like I am. I often worry I’m making Heidegger too much into a Peircean pragmatist and thereby misreading him. On the other hand that form of Heidegger is much more interesting than the mystical Heidegger.

The two volume Essential Peirce is my favorite. The first volume deals with his early period and the second with the later Peirce (my favorite). It contains most of the important texts.
Fixed the link. Sorry about that.

I don’t pay much attention when people accuse pragmatists for having “misread” Heidegger. In my opinion, this is probably because those people have such a low opinion about the philosophical weight of what pragmatism has to offer. They think that pragmatism is simply about forks and knives (to quote Harman). Quite a shame.
Btw, could you recommend one book of Peirce that would probably be available in a good uni library? I’d like to read some Peirce but I don’t really know where to start. And I am also intimidated by his logic since I am ignorant about all things logic.
Also, I think your link is wrong because that page doesn’t have anything to do with Kant, Heidegger, or OOP.
