Reassessing Quinn’s Early Mormonism and the Magic World View. I think there’s a lot to the thesis but I remain convinced the book isn’t very good. I keep hoping someone else will write a better book. Quinn’s is too much the scattergun approach with parallels divorced too much from context.

Good review of Shakers, Mormons, and Religious Worlds: Conflicting Visions, Contested Boundaries. Quite long so it reveals a lot of the useful info from the book. “19th century Mormonism is characterized from Taysom’s view as a series of mounting tensions ‘followed by capitulation and the reformulation of boundaries’”

Revising the Date of the Neandertals
