Jensen’s reservoir is located 40 minutes away from Lethbridge, south west of the town of Magrath. From Lethbridge head south of the city along highway 5 to the town of Magrath. Here, turn left from highway 5, onto highway 62. This takes you straight through the metropolis of downtown Magrath. As you leave Magrath, you will head down a small hill, crossing over Pothole creek.

Drive 7.3 km from the Pothole creek bridge (9.2 km from highway). Here a dirt road takes off to the right (west). A guard rail is located on highway 62 just past the turnoff. Follow the dirt road for 4.9 km (11.1 km from highway) turning left just past a concrete bridge over an irrigation canal. Follow the narrow road along the irrigation canal continuing up a large hill. After significant snowfall this can be tough going for small cars. If for some reason your car won’t make it, the walk from here isn’t very long. Continue along this road until you pass a large lake on your left. This is Jensen’s Reservoir. Park along the small road that takes off to the left just past the causeway.

The climbs are located in the small riverbed below the earth embankment that the road crosses. Follow the tracks of an old road down into the river bottom. The main climb forms from the spillway gates at the bottom of the riverbed. The curtain is the only climb visible from the road. It can usually, but not always, be used to determine if Jensen’s is in shape.
