BLACKISTON CREEK
also known as
PASS CREEK

This is a low volume creek situated in the beautiful Red Rock valley. There is only one section worth doing, the Church Camp run. On the upper runs, you get stupendous views as the mountains in front of you melt into the prairies.

The season is relatively short. Expect to be able to paddle for 3 weeks starting at the end of May. Unlike most creeks, there is not a lot of maneuvering to be done. Instead rapids tend to involve threading holes in tight constrictions. The toughest rapid, the Church Camp, is a bit more tricky than it appears.

Make sure to check the bridge to the Church Camp for logs. It frequently gets jammed up.
