SIYEH CREEK

This is an extremely low volume creek, located near the top of the Logan's pass. that many people won't enjoy. The gradient averages about 300m per kilometer for 3 kilometers and consists of numerous slides averaging 10-20m in length, but getting as long as 100m. Scouting every corner is mandatory. You will walk the entire length of Siyeh creek, so be smart and wear a pair of nylon pants. Due to lumber, there is one substatial port halfway down. Expect the walk around to take about 45 min. Once you reach the bottom the log jams in the tiny creek force you to make a 200m portage along a dry stream bed to reach the Reynolds confluence. Here the slides end, the water volume triples, and the ledge drops begin. You can port around Deadhorse Canyon, continuing down to St. Mary's Lake (undone), or hike out 2km along a fairly steep trail. Runing the canyon is not an option.
