LOWER TIER
The majority of climbing at this crag is characterized by extremely steep routes loaded with the biggest holds one can imagine. Expect mandatory heel hooks and an ab workout Susan Summers would be proud of. The most obvious feature of the crag is the large, 30 foot cave that can be seen from several kilometers away.
The crag gets little sun and so is an ideal location during hot summer days. During windy days climbing is definitely not suggested. Gusts are extremely severe and communication is impossible. The wind also whips around dust and dislodges loose rocks from the shale ledges above the cliff.
Cross the creek at the large boulder, following the well worn trail up the grassy hillside and across a large talus slope. 20 minutes from the landing. The shorter approach and large variety of routes makes this the most popular area at Drywood.
