THE SLAB

Introduction
The site of a pleasant winter ice route, the slab is located relatively high on Crandell's south face. From the Warden Compound, locate the top of the Bear's Hump, folloi it right a few hundred meters. There are a few different large slabs among the rock. This is the largest and lowest.
The rock is some of teh most solid around the Park. It is rather low angled (65 degrees) and is composed of many small edges and waves. Some large corners abound. The climbs are very aesthetic as the views down to the Prince of Whales Hotel are fabulous.
