Blackiston
South Face 9,580

As the tallest mountain in the Park, Blackiston is on most scramblers hit list. The quick approach, straight forward route finding and short difficulties make it even more popular. The views into Lineham Lakes are nice. The views to other mountains are not quite as nice.
Drive up the Cameron (Akamina) highway to the Lineham Lake trailhead. Hike the four or so kilometers up the trail. As the trail leaves the trees, you will cross a dry creek bed that has a long talus slope heading up to your right. Head straight up this slope on the relatively loose talus. Near the top you will run into a short headwall of Purcell lava. This is the crux of the route. Find a break in the headwall on some 3rd to 4th class terrain. After this you still have another 500 feet or so to make it up to the peak.
