East Face 8,002

The east face is not a frequently climbed route. It is reasonably steep and exposed. Overall, it is similar in difficulty to the top of Galway. Some route finding is required in the top sections.

Approach via the Crypt Lake Trail. About a kilometer past Burnt Rock (Swirling Mist) Falls, head over to the hanging meadow. A large, marshy is lake is found here (along with numerous angry moose). Numerous paths are possible through this valley. Perhaps the least spongy is directly above the falls.

On the face, head up the large scree slope. Tend right as you ascend. Pick your way through one of the large gully systems up high. Expect some exposure, loose rock, and continuous 3rd class scrambling.
