The best way to climb Glendowan is by heading up the Goat Lake trail and then following the ridgeline fro Newman to Glendowan. At Goat Lake, head up the back of the headwall on the Avion Ridge Trail. At the pass, go right, ascending Newman Peak (8,599). From this peak, follow the easy ridge down to Glendowan.

From the peak, it is possible to continue onto Cloudy Ridge, however things get technical along this section.
