SOFA
This is the prominent mountain located to the right (south west) of the Chief Mountain Highway. While not as dramatic as many of the peaks in the area, it has a unique character. The mountain lacks a dramatic peak. Thus most people content themselves to making it to the top of the ridge, rather than hiking an extra kilometer to get to the true summit to the south.
This is one of the easier peaks in the area to summit. With the good scrambling on the North West Buttress, it should be more popular than it is. Part of this may be due to the lack of an official trail into the North Basin. However, if you are adventurous, a good game trail, virtually indestinguishable from a regular trail heads off from the road.
It is rummored that a few caves exist on the South side of the mountain, up the Michewabum valley.
