Lots of stuff going on today, so my apologies for all the posts. There are two new blogs out there. The first is That Logic Blog which appears to set out to do for logic what John Baez' blog did for physics. (Sadly while Baez' blog isn't dead, it is rarely updated - how about a successor to This Week in Mathematical Physics?) Anyway, I enjoy logic and am far too rusty of late on all the esoteric stuff. But I did struggle through Quine's book on set theory and actually enjoyed it. Further one of my majors was mathematics so I guess I have that kind of personality.
The other blog is That Pretentious Philosopher. She's a fellow Canadian as well. (Of course I'm living the US, so I don't know if I still earn the title - plus my accent only comes back when family shows up or when I make a trip back home)
One other blog that isn't new, but which I noticed isn't in my sidebar yet is Foucauldian Reflections. Alas I'd put it in my sidebar but it has grown so big that I know only put the blogs I read at least once a week. So it will change quite regularly and I hope people don't take that as a comment on the quality of writing. It's simply my own interests. I'll confess I'm not a big fan of Foucault, although I did like The History of Sexuality which was very thought provoking, if somewhat implausible at times.
I've done a few other minor changes to the sidebar - mainly deletion of dead sites. However some might enjoy some of the science blogs. Some are more technical than others. But there are some great blogs out there.
Hey Clark, thanks for listing the new blogs. I've already found some interesting papers from the sidebar of That Logic Blog.
Oh, and my southern accent only comes back when I go home, too.
One other new blog is LDS Science Blog which appears to touch on a lot of the same topics I do.
I've closed comments in order to avoid spam since I don't check this older blog as much anymore.
