Quite a few people have asked me for more introductory posts on philosophy. I'm not sure I'm the best for that. However the Galilean Library just put up a nice brief introduction to philosophy page that is extremely well done. In fact I suspect I'll just send folks over there who ask me about getting started in philosophy.
Wow, what a great site! There are sections on history/historiography and history of science as well. The artilces on philosophy seem much more accessible than the articles at the Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy or even the IEP.
Thank you both for the kind words and to Clark for pointing people to my series. The idea of it is to help beginners and I hope to include further articles as and when I can. I recently started adding some introductory essays in the philosophy of science, too, also intended to clarify some of the concepts for those new to the subject.
