Fix for Barcode/Credit Card Readers?
With Snow Leopard my Credit Card reader stopped working. Someone referred me to this tech note. Sounds like you just delete /Library/Preferences/com.apple.keyboardtype.plist, reboot and reconnect the device. I’ll be trying this tomorrow. Fingers crossed. If I get it working I’ll update my credit card scanning scripts.

Macs Cost Less to Support
Macs cost less to support. I wonder if these stats are biased by the types of people who get Macs in business. If all secretaries and the likes had Macs would there really be fewer support calls? On the other hand the dreaded virus and malware issues might be behind a lot.
