How to Read in the Tub

I’m a recent convert to e-books. Part of it was that I found a bunch of free e-books with some stories I actually wanted to read. Part of it was deciding to try out books I was already going to read as e-books. I read two of Brandon Sanderson’s1 novels, The Alloy of Law and The Way of Kings. I also read the new novel by Steven Brust, one of my favorite writers. I tried a few in the Kindle app as well as in iBooks. I ended up sticking with iBooks, despite the lack of a Mac client, just because I much preferred the iOS client. I’ve honestly not bought a regular book since and am now trying to convince my dad to get an e-reader.
The one thing that’s kept me from being entirely happy was reading in the tub. I used to go to a big workout, come home sore, and then jump in the tub and read for a few hours. It was hard to to that with an e-book. For the past six months my tub reading consisted of old books I reread. Then my wife got me what has become my favorite Christmas present and surprisingly the cheapest.
Surprisingly I’d tried something similar based off of a suggestion on Twitter. I’d been putting my old iPhone 4 in a sandwich bag and reading that way. The problem is that the plastic in most baggies is such that you get rainbow banding when you try to read it. The plastic used in the above doesn’t do that. It’s very easy to read and it actually works well enough that you can play games in the tub if you want. The Light Blue Waterproof Case only costs $9.99 on Amazon and is pretty fantastic. It works with both the iPhone 4 and the iPhone 5. I don’t know if they have one for the iPad since my wife tends to use that.

[...] Link. Clark’s favorite waterproof case. I think I have the same one, but I keep it with my bike. [...]
